Hey Monica, Great blog and site. I just found it but I will be back. The Brooklyn Bridge story is great, had never heard it before. We need to talk! I too am dealing with a disability, Cerebral Palsy. I have a passion for talking to people about overcoming obstacles and never giving up! My website and blog are really new. They are like my life, a work in progress. I am working on an ebook with my twin brother(cp also) would love to talk to you more about it and get your thoughts. I feel like I could write all night, but that's enough for now. Take care, look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi, Monica! Nice blog ya have here :) I shared it on my facebook wall. I think it's an important topic to be covered.

What I connected with most was the idea of not looking for future barriers. I tend to do this. It's because I want to plan for them; how am I going to get past them? But it doesn't stop there. Contingency planning is good. Obsessively worrying and borrowing trouble is not. Good point!

There were lots of good points here. Great job.

Thanks Laura! Glad you received the universal message in being a solopreneur and how we have to force ourselves out of our busy, home-based cocoons in order to really develop and help our clients develop even further! As for the house. I'm looking forward to having you visit with Luciedawg so she can run around in our wooded backyard. There's a LOT of shade, so I'd love to pick your brain about some great things that I can plant in back and front that will still thrive and give that extra "US" touch to our place beyond what's already growing around there.

WOW, Monica. I echo WendyY's comments...you kept your cool and really handled a terrifying situation well. PHEW! I'm so glad it wasn't worse! And I'm glad for you that you're moving. Any break-in, much less two, is cause for concern!

And I *love* how you've taken this situation and looked for the learning in it, both for yourself and for everyone out here in the land of your readership. You're causing me to think about balance between my introvert and extrovert time. I can get stuck with my head in my laptop, sitting in the same spot, in my house or office, not connecting other than online and when my clients call or arrive. But that extra stuff...working at a coffee shop, going to functions, meeting friends, etc...it's all so important for a sense of energetic balance. And for me, making time and reasons to go out provides such different input to my ideas and system than I could have ever gotten otherwise.

SO, many thanks for your leadership and willingness to explore the learning in all of this. So glad for you that the move is moving forward, and can't wait to hear a "yaaaaay" from you when you're settled in! :)

Thank you Katia! *HUGS* Glad you could see this combination healing journal/blog post for what it was. I was long-winded, but hoped I rallied around my point. Thanks for the validation and sharing your experience of growth, too! We're both brain-fried. It's oooo-KAY! :)

Monica, I am so sorry to hear of this break-in. I can only imagine how scary that could be. I once had someone try to get into my bedroom window, the first night in a new apartment and it really freaked me out. You did amazingly well given the circumstances I would say.

I totally applaud your determination to get out more and not be limited by this experience. As you noted, it is also important (maybe more so) to not be limited by habit and routine. I am making a big effort in that area myself recently and I have to say that it is REALLY helping me on many levels. Emotionally it is great to be around people more, since I spend most of my time by myself. Business-wise it has been especially good. Like minded and like hearted people are experiencing who I am and what I do/ can do for them, and it is 100 times more productive than going to networking meetings with a bunch of strangers with whom, so far, I have not really connected. Spiritually it is about challenging fear and what I perceive as my comfort zone.
The best part is - I really like these new people; we have fun and it is a gift for all of us... So I am dedicating more of my time to being with folks, having fun and enjoying myself. So far, it is benefiting everyone. It looks like you will be doing that as well - getting out and into the realm of live human beings (as opposed to cyber ones) Good luck with it. You are such an ebullient being - might as well let people have access to your gorgeous spirit first-hand!

lots of love to you,
Katia

PS I am brain fried; hope this makes sense...

I love how you took something that most people would mope over and reframed it into a healing, positive process!! It really made me stop and think about how to deal with my own "remodeling wellness." Thanks for sharing!
